Introducing J. Ian Henderson


Broken Keys Publishing & Press is proud to announce the addition of Ian Henderson to our roster of writers, poets, authors, and literary talents!


Ian Henderson has dedicated an impressive span of more than half a century to the noble pursuit of educating others, focusing on facilitating personal and professional development. His extensive experience encompasses roles as a workshop facilitator and a writer specializing in leadership training, where he has made significant contributions to the field. Over the decades, Ian has cultivated a deep understanding of what it takes to inspire and empower individuals, helping them unlock their potential and navigate the complexities of their careers and personal lives.


For over 45 years, he taught continuing and corporate education at Algonquin College, where he shared his wealth of knowledge with countless students and professionals. His commitment to education was unwavering, and during this time, he also managed his own training and development company, Ian Henderson & Associates. Through this venture, he provided tailored programs and workshops that addressed the unique needs of organizations and individuals, further solidifying his reputation as an expert in the field.


In addition to his work in corporate education, Ian is a certified grief educator, life transition coach, and pet loss counsellor. His expertise in these areas allows him to provide compassionate guidance and support to those navigating the challenging water of grief, loss, and significant life changes. As a personal coach, he helps clients explore their feelings, identify their goals, and develop actionable strategies to move forward in their lives, fostering resilience and healing.


Ian's literary contributions include his first book, What's Your Life Trying to Teach You?, which reflects his deep insights into personal growth and self-discovery. In this book, he encourages readers to examine their experiences and the lessons they can draw from them, promoting a mindset of continuous learning and adaptation.


Currently, Ian resides in Ottawa, Canada, where he continues to engage with the community and share his passion for education and personal development. His enduring commitment to helping others is evident in every aspect of his work, making him a respected figure in the fields of education and coaching.



His second book, and follow up to What's Your Life Trying to Teach You?, will be released worldwide in early 2025, and titled From Rocking Horse to Rocking Chair.
