It was in September of 2021 that Broken Keys Publishing expanded services, adding a new imprint, offering printing to our writers, authors, and poets.
We are, at the same time, humbled and proud to announce having won the Community Votes Ottawa, Best Printer Award, third year running. This particular award holds a special place in our hearts as our founder has his roots in the printing industry.
It has always been our endeavour to change the literary landscape in Ottawa and the Nation's Capital surrounding Region; to safeguard our authors are not taken advantage of, to make sure those dreams to see one's work published and in print do not become lost or overwhelmed with a lack of direction.
It isn't just about ink on paper; let's be honest, any printshop can print a book. It's about having honesty and integrity. It is about finding the right tool for the right job. Printing, publishing, digital print, lithography printing, Print-on-Demand, Author's Copies, the list goes on and on. But what is the best fit for the individual or project in question?
We believe there's a book waiting to see the light of day in everyone. The last thing we want is for that dream to falls short due to simple technical issues, fear, ignorance, or being misled down the garden path, and we have put concerted efforts into being the best and most honest advisor possible. There is a heavy responsibility in being this ambassador, but so too is there a great reward.
Few realize the truly grandiose scale and implications of these creative adventures. It is truly a journey of epic proportions worthy of Homer. At Broken Keys Publishing & Press we have the privilege and honour to accompany these weavers of dreams, helping and assisting abstract ideas, dreams, and concepts that have absolutely no physical reality in existence, to transform, grow, take on a life of their own, from the intimate. internal privacy of one's imagination, to the light of day, to the retail bookstore, and finally, into the reader's hands and minds. This is a sacred journey!
